Police Chase Through Boroughs Ends In I-290 Crash, Injuries
A car stolen in Peabody was spotted in the MetroWest, touching off a chase through Westborough and ending in Marlborough.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — A state police chase that started in Natick ended Monday afternoon near Marlborough when officers used a spike strip to disable the car, leaving two of its occupants injured and causing a second crash.
The incident began near 2 p.m. Monday when a state police helicopter began tracking a car in Ashland that was reportedly stolen from Peabody. Police in Natick had tried to stop the car before it was seen in Ashland.
The car continued along Route 9 and I-495 through Southborough and Westborough before getting on I-290 westbound. Police used the spike strips to stop the car just west of the Solomon Pond Road area, causing it to crash in the median, hitting another uninvolved car in the process.

Two of the people in the reportedly stolen car were taken to UMass Memorial with what police described as "minor injuries." The driver, a juvenile, was arrested. No one in the uninvolved car was injured, police said.
