Construction On 475-Unit Marlborough Residential Complex Begins

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Construction on a long-planned Marlborough residential complex got underway this week along Simarano Drive with a groundbreaking ceremony held Wednesday.

The Green District complex will rise along Simarano Drive near Cedar Hill Street, and the first phase will feature 475 units, according to city officials. The developer behind the project, Post Road Residential, is planning to add more units at the site during future phases.

The complex will be situated just off an I-495 ramp, and within walking distance to many of the city's biggest employers, including TJX, Hologic — and the possible new BJ's headquarters.

The Green District would be Post Road Residential's third building in Massachusetts after sites in Revere and Everett. The company also has multiple developments along the I-95 corridor in Connecticut.
