Fatal Fire In Marlborough Under Investigation

The fire along Nolan Way broke out at around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, the fire department reported.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A woman died Wednesday morning after a fire broke out along Nolan Way in Marlborough, according to fire officials.

Firefighters arrived at 66 Nolan Way at around 8:30 a.m. and the home engulfed in flames.

"They arrived within three minutes to find the single-family home well involved, with fire venting from the back left corner," the state Fire Marshal reported. "Firefighters immediately made entry to attack the fire and search for occupants. They located one adult deceased inside."

Firefighters put out the blaze in about 15 minutes. A second resident of the home was displaced by the fire, officials said.

Investigators believe the fire began in the first floor living room of the home, but the exact cause was still under investigation Thursday morning.
