MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough will increase water and sewer rates this summer, and costs will rise for all ratepayers either living in or out of the city.

The new rates will begin on July 1, which is when fiscal year 2023 begins. For Marlborough residents, water rates will increase about 3.4 percent, which is slightly less than the increase seen last summer. Sewer rates will rise about 4.7 percent for residents.

In general, water and sewer fees fund the city's Water and Sewer Division, which maintains two treatment plants, plus many miles of sewer and water service pipes.
