MARLBOROUGH, MA — The Healey-Driscoll Administration announced plans to develop a state-of-the-art crime lab in Marlborough this week.

The new 200,000-square-foot facility, located at 100 Martinangelo Drive, will be developed by Greatland Realty Partners and leased by the state, according to a news release. Construction will get underway in early 2026.

The particular site was chosen for its accessibility, capacity to support new jobs and its proximity to major highways.

The location was authorized for a 20-year lease term with two 10-year extension options. Massachusetts's Asset Management Board approved the long-term lease, which will help state police to obtain a much-needed facility several years faster, according to the release.

“We are delighted to welcome this important public safety facility and its employees to Marlborough,” said Marlborough Mayor J. Christian Dumais. “When state and local governments work together, the outcomes are always stronger. I look forward to partnering with both Greatland and state officials to ensure this project delivers meaningful economic, workforce, and community benefits for our city.”
