Marlborough Adopt-A-Space Beautification Effort Returns
Know a traffic island or street corner in need of some care? The city will provide supplies.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough is bringing back the city's Adopt-a-Space program, which helps local residents and groups spruce up unsightly areas.
Under the program, locals can adopt areas like traffic islands and street corners owned by Marlborough. From there, volunteers can weed and plant to their liking.
"When you claim your Adopt-A-Space location, you get to create the perfect landscape to fit your vision of how to keep our city beautiful. Any company, organization, or person who wishes to Adopt-A-Space in the city will be required to maintain the adopted area for the spring, summer, and fall seasons," the city said in a news release.

Anyone who adopts a space will get a sign to mark their efforts.
The city also offers an Adopt-a-Planter program, where residents can pay $100 to sponsor a planter featuring a plant of your choice. The city then cares for the planter with watering and weeding services.
