Marlborough Bank Teams Up With Nonprofit To Support Students With Disabilities

The organizations hosted a back-to-school supply drive.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — This local bank helped provide school supplies for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Thrive Support & Advocacy, a nonprofit organization empowering youth and adults with disabilities in Central Massachusetts, partnered with Main Street Bank for a back-to-school supply drive. The supplies, like pens and pencils, notebooks and folders, will support 40 students with disabilities.

Community members gave to the drive at Main Street Bank's locations in Marlborough, Hudson, Northborough and Southborough.

Families were able to come and pick up backpacks full of supplies at a Thrive back-to-school event. There were also activities, like face painting, a dance competition and a photo booth.

“The back-to-school rush can be an overwhelming time for students with disabilities and their families, so starting off the academic year with one less thing to worry about can make all the difference," said Sean Rose, Thrive's President. "Thrive is deeply appreciative to Main Street Bank and the community for making this initiative a success.”
