Marlborough Begins Closing Aquatic Facilities As Summer Winds Down
The first closure happened Friday with more to fallow through the Labor Day weekend.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — With summer winding down, Marlborough began closing the city's aquatic facilities on Friday.
Marlborough opened splash pads, World War II Memorial Beach and the wading pools at Ward Park and Farrell Park in June. The two wading pools will close for the season on Friday.
Memorial Beach will be closed Aug. 28 to Sept. 1, but will reopen for the Labor Day weekend before a full closure after Sept. 4. The splash pads will also close for the season after Sept. 4.

Finally, the Hixson Boat Launch at Fort Meadow Lake will follow the same schedule as Memorial Beach: closed Aug. 28 to Sept. 1, reopening for Labor Day and closing for the season after Sept. 4, according to the recreation department.
