Marlborough Honors Fallen Heroes With New Gold Star Families Plaza

MARLBOROUGH, MA — The city hosted a dedication ceremony for its new Gold Star Families Plaza last week.

The ceremony on Friday was meant to celebrate a series of newly named city squares in honor of fallen heroes and their families. Eight locations were named after local veterans, honoring their sacrifices and stories.

  • Philip David Brodeur Square — Farm Road and Broadmeadow Road
  • Mark Joseph Cintolo Square — Main Street, Maple and Hildreth Streets
  • Clarence Hinkson Square — Bolton Street and Union Street
  • Amedee L’Ecuyer Square — Lincoln Street and Highland Avenue
  • Alfred Desmarais Square — South Bolton Street and Bridge Street
  • Charles Demeter Cosma Square — Bolton Street and Reservoir Street
  • Arthur Charles Beausoleil Square — Stevens Street and Old Charter Road
  • David Bishops Square — Stevens Street & Union Street

"We are proud to recognize these brave men, their families, and their ultimate sacrifice in service to our country," wrote the city in a news release.
