Marlborough Man Involved in Fatal Shrewsbury Crash
Police are on the scene of the crash on Main Street in Shrewsbury.

The Shrewsbury Police released the following information:
On Dec. 21, 8:54 p.m., Shrewsbury Police, Fire, EMS responded to the area of 761 Main St. for a head-on car crash that resulted in the death of one of the drivers.
Preliminary investigation said the 2004 Hyundai Elantra was traveling in the 700 block of Main Street east when it crossed the center line, then struck a 1997 Dodge Pickup truck head on.

Shrewsbury Police Officer Chad Chysna was first on scene and discovered the driver of the Hyundai was not breathing, and rendered aid until additional assistance arrived.
The driver of the Dodge, Levi I. Alves, 48, of West Main St., Marlborough, suffered non life threatening injury, but was also transported to UMASS.

The driver of the Hyundai was treated at the scene and transported by UMASS EMS Paramedics to UMASS Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester, and later died. She was identified as Elena Fedoseev, 49, of Renfrew St, Shrewsbury.
Main Street traffic in Shrewsbury was detoured at the accident scene for approximately two hours for initial rescue efforts and for the accident investigation. The crash remains under investigation by Officer Sean Maynard, and Officer Richard Fiske, from the Shrewsbury Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.
