Marlborough Restaurant Seeks To Expand With New Gazebo
The new outdoor dining area would be able to fit up to 225 people and overlook the Fort Meadow Reservoir.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough's Bolton Street Tavern is seeking permission to build a gazebo and outdoor dining area overlooking the Fort Meadow Reservoir.
Bolton Street Tavern owner John Stournaras first applied to build the outdoor dining area in 2021, and received a conditional approval from the Conservation Commission last April. The item was set to go before the Marlborough City Council Urban Affairs Committee on Wednesday.
An approval in a city council committee typically precedes a final approval by the full council.

According to plans filed by Stournaras, the 2,000 square-foot outdoor area would include a bar and room for dining. The space would be able to hold about 225 at peak, but about 100 people during normal times, according to the plans.
The tavern opened in 2013 at 587 Bolton St. The building was previously a Picadilly Pub. Stournaras also turned a former Picadilly Pub in Natick Center into the Morse Tavern around the same time.
