Marlborough Store Sells $2 Million Winning Scratch Ticket

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Malden man's stop at a Marlborough liquor store really paid off.

Yumei Zhu bought the ticket at Route 85 Liquors. He scratched the grand prize on the lottery's “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” $10 game.

Zhu accepted the lump sum payment of $1.3 million from the state, and plans to buy a house with the winnings.

For its part in the win, Route 85 Liquors will receive a $20,000 bonus from the state.
