MARLBOROUGH, MA — After a slight dip into autumn with temperatures in the 60s — and even a brush with a nor'easter — summer will return this weekend.

Temperatures in central and eastern Massachusetts will edge up toward 90 on Friday and Saturday, according to current forecasts. It won't be a return to the brutal heat from earlier this month — but enough to remind that summer isn't done yet.

Drought conditions will also persist in the coming days, with no rain in sight.
