Storm Damage Blocks Roads And Leaves Many Without Power In Marlborough

Clean-up crews have already begun removing the debris.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A heavy storm tore though Middlesex County early Monday morning, leaving broken tree limbs and debris blocking roadways and impacting power lines in Marlborough. More than 100 residents were reported to have lost electricity.

Walker Street was shut down earlier after a tree broke in half and brought down power lines. It has since been reopened.

The National Weather Service office in Boston has confirmed that though it is assessing the storm damage in Concord, where officials have confirmed that a tornado touched down, it will not assess the damage in Marlborough. According to the office's twitter account, local officials have said that the damage in Marlborough is "more spotty," so the office has chosen to concentrate its efforts in Concord.
