Target in East Marlborough Opens Today
The new Target on Boston Post Rd. E. near the Sudbury line opened today in anticipation of its grand opening Sunday, March 6.
There's a bright and shiny new Target in town, and its doors are open to the public starting today.
"The thought in opening this location is that we will be able to serve the community better," said store team leader Joe Franco.
The corporation currently has a well-known location on Donald J. Lynch Blvd. adjacent to the Solomon Pond Mall, but Franco says this store will better serve the needs of folks in East Marlborough and the surrounding towns such as Sudbury and Wayland.

The new location differs from the other locale in that it has a Starbucks Cafe, an expanded P-Fresh section filled with vegetables, produce, meats, and other groceries, as well as a Pizza Hut Express. Other differences include Target's new layout that feature lower shelving, and an overall more open design.
The store will be fully staffed after they finish hiring nearly 200 workers, and they are still in the hiring process, added Franco, who comes to Marlborough from a store leader position in Worcester. This is the third Target that Franco has opened in his long career with the company.

"It has been great to meet all the local merchants," he said. "They have really welcomed us, and we hope that when people come out and shop, it will promote other businesses such as restaurants."
The store is open 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday; 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Sundays. Click here for a map to the store.
