Would You Have a Problem Reporting Your Weight to Your Boss?
Would you report your weight and body fat levels to an employer if it meant avoiding a hike in insurance rates?

Discussing weight and body fat can be a touchy topic. How would you feel about being required to divulge such personal health information to an employer or face an increase in health insurance costs?
CVS employees are being asked to do just that. If they don't, they face a $600 increase in insurance rates, according to the Boston Herald.
"This is an incredibly coercive and invasive thing to ask employees to do,” Patient Privacy Rights founder Dr. Deborah Peel told the Herald, adding that mounting health care costs have made these policies increasingly common.

According to the Herald's report, CVS Caremark employs 200,000 workers and all of them are being required to report their metrics by May 1.
CVS is saying the information would be handled by a third party and not reviewed directly by the company, but Peel tells the Herald there is no way of knowing that the company isn't reviewing the records.
