It is the winter solstice! Celebrate with Island poets in Vineyard Haven.

1. The is offering free health insurance counseling today for residents 60 and older. 2 pm – 4 pm. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call 508-696-4205.
2. There will be Irish Music with Gregg Harcourt and Mary Wolverton at in Oak Bluffs. 7 pm - 9pm.
3. The Holiday Concert is tonight featuring the Vineyard Haven Band. Free with a suggested donation of nonperishable food for the Island Food Pantry. For details, call 508-645-3360. 6 pm - 7 pm.

4. There is a Breast Cancer Support Group this evening at 83 Seaview Avenue in Oak Bluffs. There will be time for informal conversation with other breast cancer survivors as well as an information session. Meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday of every month. 6 pm. 5. There is another solstice event this evening - the gathering at the . Newly appointed Edgartown Poet Laureate, Steve Ewing, will be reading along with Ellie Bates, Clark Myers, Barbara Peckham, Fan Ogilvie, Dan Waters (Lyrical poetry), Justen Ahren, Randall Pease, Valerie Sonnenthal, Francesca Kelly, Lee McCormick, Jill Lupin, Michael West (Lyrical poetry), William Waterway (Native American Flute), plus open mic. People are invited to bring food or a beverage to share on this special evening of celestial celebration. 7 pm – 9 pm.
