MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — A Martha's Vineyard home that once served as a retreat for the Obama family has been sold.

Blue Heron Farm, in Chilmark on Martha's Vineyard, was listed by MGS Group Real Estate for $39 million. It sold on July 10 for $37 million.

The firm said the property "spans 30 private acres in the heart of Chilmark and blends timeless New England architecture with impeccable modern upgrades, including a new pool and pool house. A rare offering of provenance, privacy, and prestige.⁠"

Not only did the property host the family, but it also served as the backdrop for some presidential history. It's reported that then President Barack Obama addressed the nation at the home after Hurricane Irene, and issued press statements there after the death of Senator Ted Kennedy.
