Second Victim of July 4th Car Crash Dies
Seth Jones died early Tuesday evening due to injuries sustained in Barnes Road car accident on July 4th

The tragedy of the car which took the life of Heather Laflamme, 21, of Berlin, NH became even more tragic with the death of a second victim on Tuesday evening. According to the Vineyard Gazette, Seth Jones, 26, of Dummer, NH, who was flown to Beth Israel in Boston with serious injuries immediately following the accident, died at the hospital after being taken off life support. The Gazette reported that Jones, "was surrounded by family and friends."
at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston on July 7th due to injuries sustained in the crash. Both she and Jones were ejected from the backseat of a 2012 Jeep that crashed with a black 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan driven by Benjamin T. Johnson, 19, of Cambridge.
According to , the victim’s brother, who was riding behind the Jeep in another car and saw the accident happen, the family were on their way to see his father’s and brother’s name on the veterans' memorial in Vineyard Haven. “My father served 20 years in the United States Army and a tour overseas to Iraq, my oldest brother Seth served eight years in the United States Marine Corps and has three tours overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan.”

The accident remains under investigation by state police.
