Medford Harvest Your Energy Festival Postponed
The city will host a vendor walkthrough instead of the annual event highlighting local energy-saving products and practices.
MEDFORD, MA — The city's annual Harvest Your Energy Festival has been postponed until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but a vendor walkthrough will be held Saturday, Oct. 17 at Riverbend Park. The walkthrough will adhere to current health and safety guidelines while providing an opportunity for residents to learn about green products and sustainable practices from local exhibitors.
Changes to the event include eliminating programming that encourages attendees to linger in one place, such as live music or raffles. Displays will be set up in a continuous, one-way walking loop along Riverbend Park. Exhibitor booths will be safely spaced for both booth staff and attendees.
The vendor walkthrough is co-hosted by the Medford Office of Energy and Environment and the Green Energy Consumers Alliance.

"While we cannot encourage large groups of people to gather in any one location, we feel that in this time of physical distancing, we particularly need to provide a way for residents to speak directly with local and green businesses and organizations," Alicia Hunt, acting director of the Office of Community Development and director of Energy & Environment, said in a statement. "This is an opportunity for those who might not feel comfortable going into a store or business to speak with the staff in-person. It’s also an opportunity to remind our residents of the wonderful opportunities in here in Medford."
