Melrose to Hold Recycling, Shredding Event

The event will be held at the Recycling Center on Saturday, September 19.

The City of Melrose will be hosting a shredding and recycling event on Saturday, September 19.

The event, which will be held at the Recycling Center at 72 Tremont Street, is open to all Melrose residents. Hours will run from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Residents can bring two boxes free of charge. Additional boxes will cost $5. Only checks will be accepted.

Items that will be collected include televisions, monitors, lap tops, CFL bulbs, tires, mercury items, textiles, books, dried latex paint, microwaves, air conditioners, refrigerators, sofa beds, recliners, and exercise equipment.

Some items have a fee that helps defray the expenses associated with properly recycling the materials
