Father, Son Killed In Route 16 Crash Identified: Worcester County DA
The 34-year-old father and 15-year-old son were leaving the Alicante Restaurant on Friday when they drove into a pond after a collision.
MENDON, MA — The father and son killed Friday in a collision along Route 16 in Mendon have been identified as Attleborough residents Edwin Sosa Acevedo, 34, and Christian Sosa, 15, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.
Acevedo and Sosa were pulling out of the parking lot of the Alicante Restaurant, 84 Uxbridge Road, on Friday night when they collided with a pickup truck traveling along Route 16.
After the collision, Acevedo and Sosa's vehicle left the roadway and drove down a 20-foot embankment into Nipmuc Pond. Firefighters were able to pull the pair out of the car, but they were pronounced dead after being taken to Milford Regional Medical Center.

The pickup truck driver was not seriously injured.
Mendon and state police were still investigating the cause of the crash as of Sunday evening.
