MYC Monthly Gratification Post

Thank You Haven Beauty!

Each month, we thank an individual, business and/or organization who supports our efforts. This month we would like to recognize a business that has gone above and beyond in the last few years for the Center, Haven Beauty of Hopkinton.

In 2022, Emily, the owner of Haven Beauty, and her amazing team reached out to the MYC out of the goodness of their hearts and made a monetary donation, along with the donation of an amazing raffle basket for us to use at our annual fundraiser. Thus, another wonderful relationship unfolded. From there, Emily and her team took it upon themselves in 2024 to open their salon and presented a, “Pay what you can day,” in which 100% of the proceeds were donated to the Center. This included haircuts, wax services and chair massage for four hours of their time on a day that would otherwise be closed on a regular weekly basis. This blew us away. Personal time, pay what you can? On that day, they donated $2,500 to the Center. We were speechless, humbled and so thankful for their efforts.

Things like this are almost unheard of, but this is what makes Haven Beauty an exception to the rule. They are exceptional. They make their clients feel wonderful and special. They are continuously thinking of ways to give back, like they did once again, in August. On August 18th, the MYC held our annual Open House for parents and guardians to tour our facility, where over 150 children and family members attended. This year, it was so much more, thanks to many, but especially to Haven Beauty, Emily and her amazing team.

They set up shop in our gym, cut and styled hair, shaped eyebrows and massaged shoulders from 10:00am until 2:00pm, free of charge, out of the goodness of their hearts. Not only did they work tirelessly for the youth and families of Milford, but Emily also decided, without hesitation, to sponsor the Smashburger truck that was scheduled to be on site, as another special and free treat for the youth of Milford.

Emily is a true representation of what we need more of in this world—genuine kindness. She reflects this through her business, Haven Beauty, and as a result, her team also shines through with their kindness and generosity. We would like to thank you all for being such amazing, generous and real-life examples of what it means to be sincere in wanting to make a difference for Milford youth and in our community.

Thank you!
