Bruins Broadcaster Applies Play-by-Play Skills to TV Clips

Dave Goucher, the Boston Bruins play-by-play man and Milton resident, appeared on the Toucher and Rich Show last week with a unique display of his talents.

The Boston Bruins are in the middle of the Eastern Conference Finals and with a week off before the beginning of their series with the Pittsburgh Penguins, play-by-play announcer and Milton resident Dave Goucher had some time to take a break from hockey.

Last Thursday, before the series started, Goucher recorded one of his recurring segments for the Toucher and Rich Show, 98.5 The Sports Hub's morning drive program.

In "Dave Goucher Goes to the Movies" Goucher watches clips, like the volleyball scene in Top Gun, and records real-time play-by-play of the action.

The most recent edition of the bit, dubbed by co-host Rich Shertenlieb as "Dave-time TV" included play-by-play of television instead of the silver screen. Goucher glides through a range of shows from daytime talk to reality and even Comcast Sportsnet's simulcast of the Sport Hub's Felger and Mazz show.

In one part, Goucher references his own Stanley Cup call from 2011 of "get the duck boats ready" by saying "get the DVR ready."

The audio of the entire segment is available here.
