Milton Public Schools Closed Due to Winter Storm
All Milton Public School facilities will be closed Friday through Sunday during Winter Storm Nemo.

The Milton Public Schools will be closed Friday, February 8, due to inclement weather. The decision was made around 1:30 p.m. Thursday as snowfall totals for Winter Storm Nemo are expected to reach a range between 24 and 30 inches.
All schools will be closed through the weekend, which means sporting events and Sunday’s Walkathon have been canceled.
Snow is expected to begin falling during the morning commute and intensify by noon, making after school travel a potential hazard.

The decision to close the schools was made jointly by Superintendent Mary Gormley, Deputy Police Chief Charles Paris and Department of Public Works Director Joe Lynch.
Lynch said they have been discussing the storm for the past three days.

“The best we thought we’d get was an early dismissal,” said Lynch, adding the entire day eventually had to be cancelled because of the timing of the storm.
School will resume Monday, February 11.
