3 Students Hurt In Newton School Bus Crash

Massachusetts State Police said a Newton school bus and a car collided on the Massachusetts Turnpike.

NEWTON, MA — At least two students were injured in a crash involving a school bus and car on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Newton Monday afternoon. There were eight students on board and two or three of them have injuries described as minor, police said.

The crash happened at about 4:30 p.m. near the 128.5 mile marker, a spokesperson for the department told Patch.

The students were around 9 years old, according to police.

It's unclear if anyone was sent to the hospital but two or three students were complaining of minor injuries. When that happens, they're generally transported to the hospital to check it out, State Trooper James DeAngelis said.

Police did not know what school the students were from.
