The single most pressing issue facing Newton is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

How we handle development and the issues associated with it such as transportation, traffic, parking, improvement of our streets and sidewalks, and commitment to open space.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I do not have an opponent in this election

If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)? Incumbents, what's still on your to-do list?

I am and will continue to be a strong supporter of our public schools, improvements to our streets, sidewalks and other infrastructure, and efforts to address climate change.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform:

What accomplishments would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

As President of the City Council, I have encouraged open discussion and vigorous debate, welcomed different opinions on the matters before us, and tried to treat all of our residents with dignity and respect.

The best advice ever shared with me was ...

I have had lots of good advice given to me over the years! Generally, it comes down to being appreciative of good health and a happy family and that giving back to one's community is good not only for the community but yourself.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I have been privileged to serve the residents of Newton and look forward to continuing my work on the City Council.

My favorite aspect of this city is...

There are so many aspects of this city that I like that I cannot pick just one - they include our great public schools, our tree-lined streets and village centers, and the strong sense of community that we have.

What's your take on all the development in the city?

We cannot remain stagnant and responsible development is good and appropriate for our city. At the same time, we must carefully and thoughtfully scrutinize proposed projects and changes to our zoning code.
