Two Indicted For Rape In Newton: Middlesex Grand Jury

A Middlesex Grand Jury handed down four indictments related to Newton, including assault with intent to rape a child.

NEWTON, MA — District Attorney announced two Newton related indictments handed down by the Grand Jury between May 2 and June 27. Both involved rape.

Child rape: Primo Leung, 36, of Concord, New Hampshire, was charged with aggravated rape of a child (2 counts), indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14 by a mandated reporter (2 counts), and indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14 (2 counts).

Prosecutors said Leung sexually assaulted at least one student who was 13 and 14 at an English language learner and culture summer program at the prestigious Fessenden School. The sexual assault victim, now 17, alleged that Leung fondled and groped her when she was a student at Rundlett Middle School, as well.

Allegations against Leung came about after three high school students told school administrators they saw him having an inappropriate interaction in a car with another student, Patch reported earlier.

Rape: Jenness Peterson, 23, of Hooket, New Hampshire, was charged with rape (2 counts), assault and battery on a household or family member, strangulation, and trespassing. The Assistant District Attorney is Maren Schrader. This isn't Peterson's first encounter with the court system: He was arrested on assault and threat charges After Standoff With Police in 2017.
