Norfolk residents are invited to take part in a global moment of peace and well-being.
On Sunday, December 21, communities around the world will observe World Meditation Day, officially recognized by the United Nations. As part of this global initiative, Norfolk will host a free, in-person community meditation gathering at the Norfolk Public Library.
The meditation will be livestreamed from New York City, where it will be led by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, an internationally renowned humanitarian, peace ambassador, and founder of the Art of Living Foundation. Millions across countries and time zones are expected to participate.
This local gathering offers residents a chance to come together, experience guided meditation, and connect with neighbors—especially meaningful during the busy holiday season.
