Applefest Starts

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your day in Northborough.

It's Friday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Northborough to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Applefest starts Friday.

The 2013 Applefest runs Friday through Sunday. Here is Friday's schedule:

  • Applefest Dessert Bake-Off: 11 a.m. to noon, Northborough Senior Center, 119 Bearfoot Road.
  • Applefest Luncheon: noon to 1 p.m., Northborough Senior Center.
  • Applefest Children's Event -- The Frisbee Guy: 6 to 6:45 p.m., Melican Middle School, 145 Lincoln St.
  • Algonquin Regional High school Varsity Football Home Opener: 7 p.m.

2. Root for the Tomahawks.

Here is Friday's Algonquin Regional High School sports schedule:

  • Freshman field hockey: at Hopkinton, 3:30 p.m.
  • JV volleyball: at Shrewsbury, 4 p.m.
  • Freshman volleyball: at Shrewsbury, 4 p.m.
  • Varsity volleyball: at Shrewsbury, 5 p.m.
  • JV field hockey: at Wachusett, 5 p.m.
  • Varsity field hockey: at Wachusett, 6:30 p.m.
  • Varsity football: vs. Marlborough, 7 p.m.
3. Hear a sermon.

At Trinity Church of Northborough, Pastor Jerrie Shepard Matney's sermon at 10 a.m. this Sunday will be entitled "Keeping Up With God."

4. Make a tree-mendous craft.

The Northborough Free Library offers an autumn equinox craft from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

5. Do yoga.

Gentle Yoga will be offered at 5:45 p.m. Friday at YogaPlus Studio, 38 Southwest Cutoff.
