New Mask Mandate In Effect For Northborough Residents

Masks will now be required for any indoor public space in Northborough for residents aged 2 and older.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — An indoor mask mandate is now in effect for Northborough residents as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.

Anyone who is indoors at a public space in Northborough will now have to wear a mask to help cut down on a recent spike in COVID-19 cases.

This new mandate applies to everyone aged 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status, and will be in place for restaurants, retail stores, bars, performance centers, social clubs, event spaces, healthcare facilities and congregate care settings, places of religious worship and municipal buildings, and private spaces open to the public.

Northborough was not on the list of the 102 municipalities in the Commonwealth with the highest proportion of families at or below the poverty level are receiving iHealth Labs OTC at-home rapid antigen test kits in the initial distribution.

The Board of Health will eventually decide when the order can be rescinded.
