Man Charged Driving 100 MPH On I-290, OUI: Report

A man was charged with an OUI and speeding after he was clocked going 111 mph eastbound on I-290 in Northborough.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA - A Northborough man was charged with speeding and operating under the influence, according to the Community Advocate.

On March 17, a white GMC going nearly 111 mph passed a stationary officer on the eastbound lane of Interstate 290. The driver was pulled over and subsequently displayed signs of intoxication.

William Newmeyer, the driver in question, reportedly swayed and nearly fell twice. He was taken into custody and his vehicle was towed. Newmeyer has two previous OUI convictions in Maine.

He was charged with OUI-liquor (third offense), speeding and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
