Teen Investigated For Holding Assault-Looking Weapon On Snapchat

NORTHBOROUGH, MA—Police are investigating an incident in which a teen allegedly shared a Snapchat image holding what looked like an assault weapon-type weapon.

Reported around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, detectives investigated the incident into the early morning hours of Friday.

"All individuals associated with the video have been interviewed, their parents have been involved and taken appropriate action," said Northborough Police Chief William Lyver.

Police found the weapon, which was confirmed as being an Airsoft pellet rifle. They found that there was no threat made to any school nor was any crime committed.

Lyver also pointed out that the incident was in no way related to the threatthat was reported a day earlier at Algonquin.
