5 Things: Marathon Monday, Patriots' Day Celebration
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on April 15 in the North End.

1. Partly sunny: Marathon Monday will be partly sunny with a high near 55 degrees and a low around 42, according to the National Weather Service.
2. Tax deadline: Happy Patriotsβ Day! Boston Public Schools, the libraries and most state and city government offices are closed for the holiday. It also means Massachusetts residents have one more day to file their state income tax forms (due by the end of the day Tuesday, April 16). However, today is the deadline to file your federal income tax forms.
3. Patriots' Day Celebration: The 238th annual Patriots' Day celebration will kick off at 9 a.m. with a flag-raising ceremony at City Hall Plaza. The parade will march from the plaza onto Kings Chapel on Tremont Street for a wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of William Dawes, then on to the Old Granary Burial Grounds for a wreath-laying at the grave of Paul Revere. The ceremonies will conclude with the re-enactment of Paul Revere's famous midnight ride, beginning at 10 a.m.Β at the Paul Revere Mall on Hanover Street in front of the Old North Church.

4. Marathon Monday: Around 20,000 runners will hit the streets today in the 117th annual Boston Marathon, logging 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston, ending on Boylston Street in front of the Boston Public Library. The first group (mobility impaired) will set off at 9 a.m., with the last group setting off at 10:40 a.m. Looking for a good place to watch the action? Check out this list.
5. NEAD scholarships:Β Applications are now being accepted for North End Against Drugs' annual Michelina and Raymond Costa Scholarship program for the 2013-14 academic year.Β Applications, along with rules and regulations, can be picked up at the Nazzaro Community Center. Scholarships are awarded in the following categories: K-8 grade, high school or prep school and college.
