Daily 5: Films at the Library, Free Y Memberships for Teens
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on Monday, July 22 in the North End.

1. Children’s films: On Mondays at 11 a.m., come and watch children's films at the North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.). Also on Monday at the library, at 4 p.m., kids can participate in a free and easy craft.
2. Photography contest: As part of the West End Museum’s new show, “Life in the West End 1947-1953; The Photography of Jules Aarons,” local photographers are invited to submit their favorite photos of the West End neighborhood of today. The best photos will be made into a poster highlighting all that is great about the West End. Submissions will be accepted from May 1 through Aug. 1. Send photos to thewestendmuseum@gmail.com or upload them to Facebook and tag The West End Museum.
3. Teens free at the YMCA: The Charlestown YMCA (150 Third Ave.) and Huntington Avenue YMCA are offering free summer memberships for teenagers up to age 19 from June 29 through Sept. 7. As members, teens can participate in sports and fitness programs, teen dances and events, volunteer and leadership opportunities and academic support programs. Drop by to sign up; bring a valid ID. 4. Big Brothers needed: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay has more than 1,000 kids waiting for Big Brothers in local communities for their community-based mentoring programs. To apply or learn more, visit bbbsmb.org or call 617-542-9090.
