Daily 5: NEWRA To Discuss Boston Alcohol Licensing
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on Tuesday, July 23 in the North End.

1. Rain: Tuesday, July 23 will be cloudy with showers and a possible thunderstorm, according to the National Weather Service. Some storms could produce heavy rain. A chance of showers will continue into the evening. High: 79, Low: 70.
2. NEWRA Zoning meeting: The North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association Zoning, Licensing and Construction Committee will meet on Tuesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. at the Mariners House (11 North Sq.) on the second floor. The meeting will include a discussion of neighborhood alcohol licenses and City Council’s home rule petition to change the alcohol license process for Boston. 3. Crafts in the park: Mayor Thomas Menino is sponsoring free craft workshops around Boston parks during the month of July. On Tuesday, July 23, drop by DeFilippo Park (Prince and Snow Hill streets) in the North End. All sessions run from 9 a.m. to noon. 4. Library fun: Drop by the North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.) on Tuesday, July 23 at 4 p.m. for a free showing of the 1996 film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s “James and the Giant Peach.” The library will also host story times for toddlers at 10:30 a.m. and babies at 11:05 a.m.
5. Where should "City Hall To Go" go? Once a month Boston residents get to choose where the "City Hall To Go" truck will go by sending their votes via Twitter to @CityHallToGo.
