American Association of University Women Scholarships Open
The Melrose-Wakefield Area Branch of the association is offering two scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic year.
NORTH READING, MA — The Melrose-Wakefield Area Branch of the American Association of University Women is offering two scholarships this year and applications for each are open.
The branch scholarship is worth $1,500 and is given in memory of Ann Haddock of Melrose, who passed away in October 2020. Haddock graduated from Medford High School and Middlebury College. She was a member of AAUW for decades and served as a founding member of the Scholarship Committee and as its chair for many years.
The AAUW said Haddock was a kind and caring individual, who valued opportunities for service to non-profit organizations such as AAUW, the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church, the Fitch Home, and the Boston Visiting Nurses Association.

The second scholarship is worth $600 and is offered from the Diana L. Goldblith Scholarship Fund. The fund was established by donations from Goldblith’s family and friends after her sudden death in June 1990. She was a longtime Melrose resident, was an active and enthusiastic participant in AAUW’s Literature Group, Great Decisions Group, and Stellar Investment Club.
Applications for both scholarships are available online.
