Bought A Home In 2020? Expect A Town Inspection
The North Reading Assessor will be scheduling exterior inspections of all buildings sold in 2020.
NORTH READING, MA — If you bought your home in 2020, or have or had a building permit, you can expect a town employee to knock on your door for an inspection soon.
Inspections of the home will entail measuring the exterior — because of the pandemic, the town will not be asking residents to let anyone inside their home. In some cases interior pictures might be requested, according to the town's assessing manager, Debbie Carbone.
If you aren't home when the town visits, a letter will be left to make up an appointment. The process, Carbone said in a letter, is essential for knowing 2022 property values and following state mandates.
