Community Impact Team Encourages All Ages to Attend National Night Out
Event will be held at Ipswich River Park

The North Reading Community Impact Team (CIT) will be sponsoring its annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1st from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Ipswich River Park (rain date August 8th). National Night Out is an event focused on strengthening North Reading by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners. The goal is to heighten crime‐prevention awareness, build community connections, and promote health and safety issues among all generations.
North Reading Police Chief Mike Murphy commented, “National Night Out is a great opportunity for residents to come out and meet the public safety officials and other community members who work every day to make our community safer. There will be information for families, children and seniors.” Murphy continued, “This is North Reading’s eighth annual event, joining over 15,000 other communities, from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.
“Every year kids love the law enforcement vehicles we have coming in,” added Drug-Free Communities Director Amy Luckiewicz. “They’re going to get a chance to see up-close police, fire, and SWAT vehicles and be able to check out the police drone.”
