Free Youth Cognitive Development Workshop

All workshops are FREE and open to the public.

The Community Impact Team and North Reading Youth Services will host a free Youth Cognitive Development Workshop on January 24, 2024, at the North Reading Police Department from 7-8 pm. This workshop is part of a new series of educational programs for the North Reading community's families and those who work with and support youth.

This Cognitive Development workshop will educate participants on brain development, youth mental health, and how to foster positive developmental outcomes for youth. Additionally, this workshop will discuss protective factors, adverse childhood experiences and environments, and ways to support youth resilience. Laura Miranda, North Reading's Mental Health/Substance Abuse Clinician, and Eleanor Richard, the Director of North Reading Youth Services, will lead this workshop. These two facilitators have over 20 years of experience in youth development and mental health collectively. Eleanor Richard emphasized that “families and those who work with youth have many opportunities to support children’s healthy cognitive development and to create environments that promote youth growth and resilience. This workshop is designed to help support those efforts.”

To register for the Cognitive Development workshop and other educational programs, please go to www.northreadingma.gov/CIT and click on Events.
