Melrose Male Arrested for OUI

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Friday through Monday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 5:56 p.m., a caller reported that a male, who may have been intoxicated, was driving away from Captain Pizza on Main Street. As a result of the call, Patrick A. Hartigan, 30, of 21 Greenwood St. Apt. 12, Melrose was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of liquor.

Friday, February 15

  • At 2:28 p.m., a caller reported three youths under the bridge on Washington Street. Police spoke to the youths and told them to leave and not return.
  • At 2:41 p.m., a resident walked into the police station and reported that her vehicle was stolen from North Reading Auto.
  • At 4:12 p.m., a Central Street resident reported that her iPhone was stolen.
  • At 7:42 p.m., a Marblehead Street resident reported that his white Maltese is missing. If you have seen this dog, please call 978-664-5297.
  • At 8:49 p.m., a caller reported that her vehicle was hit with a snowball on North Street.
  • At 9:53 p.m., a caller reported that vehicles were being hit with snowballs on Haverhill Street.

Saturday, February 16

  • At 9:43 a.m., the manager from the Subaru dealership on Main Street reported that four wheels and other items were stolen overnight. 

Sunday, February 17

  • At 9:21 p.m., a Burroughs Road resident reported that a car drove into the wall in front of his house and the vehicle ended up on its side. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Monday, February 18

  • At 11:15 a.m., a caller reported that while walking his dog on the path on Main Street he found an intact .38 round. Police searched the area, but did not find anything else.
  • At 6:45 p.m., a caller reported a customer left Hess without paying for gas. 
  • At 8:04 p.m., a caller reported a person actively shoplifting at Walmart. Walmart handled the incident.
  • At 9:18 p.m., a Flash Road resident took in a dog she found at the intersection of North and Main Street. The dog was a German Shepard with a 2005 tag.
