Obituary: Allan R. Nelson, Longtime North Reading Resident, Veteran

Allan R. Nelson, longtime resident of North Reading, died on Wednesday, June 17. He was 81 years old.

Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, on Sept. 3, 1933, Nelson was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Bentley College. He was also a United States Army veteran, serving his country during the Korean Conflict.

Nelson lived in North Reading for the last 53 years and was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church and an honorary Life member of the Saugus Elks. He was dedicated to his family and was a husband, father and grandfather.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, at noon at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 235 Park St., in North Reading. Calling hours will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., in North Reading on Monday, June 22 from 5 to 7 p.m.
