Penguin is a Sweet Kitten, Not a Bird in a Tuxedo

Hello, my name is Penguin and I'm a lively, six-month-old kitten. My markings may remind my foster of a real penguin, but I much prefer a warm, snuggly place with you to an ice floe in Antarctica or a beach in the Galapagos. Actually, I was brought in from the cold outdoors when I was only 12 weeks old, so I do have outdoor experience and I can tell you now that I'm done with that. Life indoors on the warm and cozy side of the window pane is the life for me.

Here on the inside, I find that toys are the most fun. I can’t resist anything on a string, any catnip mouse, and that red dot that always seems to get away. And, I am finding people more and more interesting. They all ooh and ahh over my adorable fluffiness (who knew I was so cute?). I certainly do like being admired.

Left over from my days of surviving the dangers of the great outdoors, I must admit I have a few trust issues I am working on. A lot of commotion will send me scurrying for a secure place (I run, I do not waddle like a penguin). I like to watch the goings on from a safe, warm corner (not an iceberg or an island).

Of course I am still a kitten, so curiosity and an invitation to play always
gets the better of me. I just need you to be patient while I get my footing in this slippery indoor world. At heart, I am a sweet, mush of a guy who
purrs when my foster mom pets me. I sometimes let her pick me up and hold me in her lap, or crawl onto her when we play, so I know I will be purring in your arms in no time at all. I already know I like to sleep on the bed with my humans.

By the way, I really love other cats, so a playmate would be great to
have as long as they are the feline kind. I think I would do best in a home
without really small children, only because they are usually so busy and active that I don’t know what to make of them.

Everyone keeps saying I am going to make a terrific house cat. I agree.
I am definitely a homebody and have no interest at all in polar exploration or cold relationships. So please come visit me so we can see if we are a match. I am pretty sure I will warm up to you and I know I can melt your heart. Global warming is real when it comes to being around me, Penguin, the fuzzy-hearted kitten.
