Red Substance Thrown on Car Parked on Main Street

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Monday through Thursday. The information is open to the public.
Monday, March 11
- At 5:16 p.m., an officer pulled a driver over due to a road rage incident. After a long conversation with the driver, the officer issued a warning.
- At 9:53 p.m., a Surrey Lane resident reported that a window or door was left open in her basement and she was afraid to check them. Police checked the area and secured the home.
Tuesday, March 12

- At 8:46 a.m., a Main Street resident reported that a red substance was thrown on her car overnight.
- At 11:42 a.m., a caller reported an erratic operator on Main Street. Police spoke to the driver who claimed the issue was due to a donut tire on her car.
- At 12:13 p.m., a caller reported an erratic operator on Chestnut Street. A message was left for the owner to contact an officer to follow up.
- At 5:05 p.m., a caller reported possible drug activity on Lowell Road. The car headed toward Wilmington and Wilmington Police were notified.
- At 8:08 p.m., a Main Street resident reported that her car's tires may have been slashed and it had happened before.
Wednesday, March 13
- At 2:16 p.m., a caller reported a male walking on Main Street that may be drunk. Police found the male on Main Street in Andover, but did not see an issue.
Thursday, March 14

- At 12:31 a.m., a caller reported seeing a trailer with the door wide open with an unattended fire in a wood stove going inside. The fire department was notified and spoke to the owner who said it was an oversight.
- At 10:50 a.m., a Pomeroy Road resident reported having a FedEx package tampered with.
- At 2:46 p.m., a caller reported a fight in progress involving youths at Hillview Country Club. Those involved were stopped and spoken to by police. The youths claimed it was horseplay.
- At 11:35 p.m., an Oak Avenue resident reported a neighbor banging nails and keeping his family awake. Police spoke with the neighbor who apologized and said he was done working for the night.
