String of Car Break-Ins Reported
The following information was supplied by the North Reading police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Friday through Monday. The information is open to the public.
Friday, May 24
- At 9:55 a.m., a Valley Road resident reported a suspicious vehicle in her neighbor's driveway. Police found that the vehicle belonged to a contractor.
- At 12:51 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. The accident was minor.
Saturday, May 25

- At 3:55 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. The accident was minor.
Sunday, May 26
- At 9:37 a.m., an employee from Hess reported that a customer drove off without paying for gas. Police found that there may have been an issue with the customer's credit card or the pump. The customer paid for the gas.
- At 11:41 a.m., a new Park Street resident reported a possible attempted break-in. Police found that it was an attempted break-in.
- At 12:31 p.m., a Main Street resident reported being threatened by a male and female. Police found that there was a verbal argument between the three people involved. The issue was resolved.
- At 1:50 p.m., a Main Street resident reported a group of people yelling. Police checked the area, but did not find anything.
- At 4:13 p.m., a Lowell Road resident reported that her child's bike was stolen. As a result of the call, a 16-year-old was summonsed on charges of unlicensed operation and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
- At 6:44 p.m., a Hayward Farms Lane resident reported that kids were ringing her doorbell and running away. Police checked the area, but did not find the kids.
Monday, May 27

- At 6:42 a.m., a Castle Road resident reported that three of his cars were broken into overnight. Loose change, an iPod and Kindle were missing.
- At 9:28 a.m., a Kings Row resident reported that his car was broken into overnight and a GPS was taken.
- At 10:53 a.m., a Marblehead Street resident reported that his two cars were entered overnight.
- At 11:09 a.m., a Pilgrim Road resident reported receiving threatening phone calls.
- At 11:32 a.m., a Kings Row resident reported that his car was broken into overnight and $30 was taken.
- At 12:32 p.m., a Marblehead Street resident reported that someone broken into his vehicle overnight. Loose change was taken.
- At 1:53 p.m., a caller reported a group casing a disturbance at Ipswich River Park. Police said that the group moved on voluntarily.
