Thomson Country Club Pool Opening Pushed Back

Owner Nick Yebba, Sr. plans to open on June 8, or before.

The pool at the Thomson Country Club will not be open Memorial Day weekend, but should be ready for guests by June 8, according to Owner Nick Yebba, Sr.

The pool and tennis courts, which will now be referred to as Resorts North, were supposed to be open this weekend. However, the weather has postponed some of the resurfacing that was planned for this past week, Yebba said. You need several dry days in a row to complete some of the work necessary to open, Yebba told Patch. He hopes that the pool and tennis courts will be complete and ready for guests on June 8 or before.

Membership applications are now available at ResortsNorth.com.

Site Plan Review

Yebba met with the Community Planning Commission this past week to discuss the Site Plan Review. He will have to go back in June with some revisions, according to the Community Planning Department.

The CPC would like to see revisions to the signs Yebba plans to install on the property. There are four signs: one to be placed at the entrance, another off to the side between the pool and second restaurant and two on the building, Yebba said. With the exception of the sign at the entrance, they are all located 450 feet from the street, he explained.

The CPC had an issue with the size of the signs, according to the Community Planning Department. Yebba said he would see what he could do about that. However, he said that he took "extraordinary measures to be sure [the signs were] tasteful."

The CPC would also like to see samples of the materials that will be used to make the signs.

Yebba will attend another CPC meeting in early June.
