1. . Over 600 residents attended Special Town Meeting at North Reading High School Monday night to vote to appropriate $15.5 million in additional funds for the school building project. The auditorium filled quickly and the overflow space in the gymnasium was utilized. Residents used a paper ballot to vote, and the motion passed by more than the required two-thirds, 525 to 120.
2. How Many People Were Arrested in North Reading Last Year? According to the North Reading Police Department, 227 arrests were made last year and 14 people were held in protective custody.

3. Kushakji Will Not Be on Ballot for School Committee. School Committee member Michael Kushakji did return , according to Town Clerk Barbara Stats.
4. Vesey's Electrifying Goal Not Enough for Austin Prep. It took North Reading resident Nolan Vesey just 14 seconds to electrify the TD Garden crowd and put Austin Preparatory ahead of Malden Catholic in the Super 8 championship game on Sunday. Unfortunately for the Cougars, that lead didn't last.

5. UPDATED: No Contested Races in This Year's Local Election. There will not be any contested races at this year's local election, which was moved to April 30 to be combined with the U.S. Senate primary. Seven North Reading residents, all incumbents, will be on the ballot.
