Additional Car Break-Ins Reported

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Tuesday through Thursday. The information is open to the public.
Arrests
At 6:31 a.m. Wednesday, Jose B. Taveras, 39, of 15 Royal Crest Apt. 3, North Andover was arrested on North Street on the charge of conspiracy to violate a drug law.

At 4:50 p.m. Thursday, as the result of a detective investigation on Main Street, Qi Zhao, 48, of 288 Fayette St. Apt. 2, Quincy and Yin Lihua, 49, of 192 Tennison, Quincy were both arrested on the charge of sexual conduct for a fee.
Tuesday, May 28

- At 3:38 p.m., as the result of a motor vehicle stop on Lowell Road a 38-year-old North Reading resident was summonsed on charges of operating with a suspended license and registration.
- At 4:28 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
- At 6:49 p.m., an Appletree Lane resident reported that her car was entered over the weekend and a McDonalds gift certificate may be missing.
- At 7:31 p.m., a Canterbury Lane resident reported that his pay pal account was used without his permission.
- At 10;25 p.m., a Shasta Drive resident reported that youths threw traffic cones, signs and a bench on his lawn.
Wednesday, May 29
- At 6:20 a.m., a Peter Road resident reported that two of his vehicles were broken into the night before. A GPS, MP3 player and an iPod were taken.
- At 6:30 a.m., a Peter Road resident reported that someone entered his vehicle overnight and took loose change.
- At 6:58 a.m., a Peter Road resident reported that someone broke into his vehicle overnight and took loose change.
- At 7:10 a.m., a Peter Road resident reported that someone broke into his vehicle and a GPS was taken along with loose change. Shortly after, two additional Peter Road residents also reported that their cars were broken into.
- At 11:05 a.m., a Peter Road resident reported that two of her vehicles were broken into and a GPS was taken.
- At 3:48 p.m., a Williams Road resident reported that his house may have been broken into because the slider door was smashed. Police found that a rock was thrown by the landscaper's mower and caused the damage.
Thursday, May 30
- At 1:38 p.m., a Marblehead Street resident reported that his vehicle was broken into over the weekend.
- At 5:30 p.m., a Lowell Road resident reported a past breaking and entering.
According to police, they are performing extra patrols in target areas due to the recent car break-ins.
