Vesey Named Finalist for Hobey Baker Memorial Award
The award is given to the top college hockey player in the country.

Harvard University junior and North Reading resident Jimmy Vesey has been voted as one of three Hobey Baker Hat Trick Finalists.
Vesey joins Boston University freshman and Chelmsford resident Jack Eichel and Zane McIntyre of the University of North Dakota.
The Hobey Baker Memorial Award is given to the top college hockey player in the country.

Vesey is Harvard’s first Hobey Baker Award finalist in 10 years. He racked up the most points (58) in the ECAC this year, led the nation in goals (32) and had the third post points in the nation.
He has already won the Walter Brown Award as the top American player in New England. He also had quite a weekend in March.

Hobey Baker Memorial Award nominees are chosen with these four areas in mind:
- Strength of character, on and off the ice
- Contribution to the integrity of the team and outstanding skills in all phases of the game
- Scholastic achievement and sportsmanship
- Compliance with all NCAA rules, including being a full-time student in an accredited college or university and completing 50 percent or more of the season
The winner will be announced during a ceremony at 5 p.m. Friday, April 10 and will be televised live regionally on NESN and on the NHL Network.
