Weather Update: More Rain Coming to North Reading?

Monday might be the first full day of summer, but North Reading residents shouldn’t expect beach weather just yet.

The National Weather Service is predicting more rain and thunderstorms this week for North Reading, beginning with a slight chance of showers on Monday, June 22.

Monday, weather forecasters are calling for a 20 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m., becoming partly cloudy conditions Monday night. The high is expected to reach 78 degrees and tonight’s low is expected to dip around 62, according to the NWS.

Here’s your weather forecast through the middle of the week from the National Weather Service:

  • Monday: A slight chance of showers after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
  • Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. South wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7 p.m. Mostly clear, with a low around 63. West wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 79. West wind around 6 mph.
  • Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60.
